Why Abs Work Outs Don't Work For All Men

Ask any guy and he'll agree that, having perfectly sculpted abdominal muscles has become a symbol of status, not just fitness.  That said, a perfect set of abs is hard for a good number of guys to achieve, often in spite of how hard they exercise.  When designing your best abs workout, you need to consider the following factors that many men miss:

Muscle Memory.  This means that constantly doing crunches, while it will feel like exercise, will not give you the results you desire.  Muscles adapt and in no time become accustomed to exercises so it's important to continually be changing your abs workout routine.

Don't forget resistance and cardio.  To achieve maximum results, it's a good idea to alternate your abs workout with at least three sessions of cardio and three of resistance training.  Mixing up aerobic and anaerobic exercise this way is a must if you desire to burn off the fat covering your abs much faster.

Target all of your abdominals.  It's very important to learn that your abs are separated into four quadrants, and you'll have to focus on each group in order to achieve the best abs workout possible.  A lot of guys overlook the lower abdominals altogether, for instance, which is a huge oversight if you're trying to achieve a fully sculpted set of abs.

Don't start without learning the basics.  In order to avoid injury and pull off your desired results, you'll also need to ensure you know how to achieve the proper form for each abdominal exercise.  You can set up time to work with a trainer or go out and pick up a how-to video or magazine to help you learn how to do the best abs workout you can.

Lastly, as you would when taking on any other new exercise plan, make sure you you're your doctor to be sure it's alright to begin an abs workout regime.
